(WORLD PREMIERE: NOT YET TITLED)// 30 minutes

Inspired by how can have a profound change on someone’s behavior, this new work explores the impact music plays in society. The sound and messages we release through our art form directly impact our listeners in powerful ways. This is especially true of the youth and adolescents of our society, who are still extremely malleable to the world around them. The dancers movement set the tone and the music, as they create the sound of the piece in real time using Point Motion technology. Motion control sensors are placed above the stage and dancers move throughout the stage, while Point Motion technology creates the sound by tracing their movements. This dynamic work is sharp, electrifying, and brings an audience to many different emotions music can bring out. A fluid watercolor backdrop projected onto the cyc flows throughout the piece as it seems as if the dancers are painting the music with their movement.
