Rooted with the philosophy of Artistic Director Sheena Annalise, dancers are invited to explore a new way of thinking about ballet, body articulation, and personal artistry in a one week training program that offers an unparalleled experience in Arch Ballet Technique and repertoire. Emphasis is placed on harvesting the solid technical underpinning of classical training to cultivate innovative movement. Designed for professional and pre-professional dancers, the curriculum values artistic risk-taking and tenacious work ethic for dancer’s to realize their full potential. Throughout the intensive dancers will learn Arch Ballet Technique starting at the barre, contemporary pas de deux, company repertoire, and Sheena Annalise’s trial and error choreography process in the creation of a new work. All participants will have the opportunity to perform with the company on stage during their summer performance season at Abrons Arts Center Playhouse Theatre.

UPDATE COVID 19:

Arch Ballet has every intention to move forward with the summer intensive dates. In the event CDC is still observing social distancing – we have placed protocols to protect all artists. Studio will be at 50% capacity, dancers will observe 6 ft distancing throughout the intensive – no partnering or group partnering will be present. All choreography will be solo repertoire. Barres for class will be sanitized before and after use. Dancers will have a sanitized dedicated rubber fabric on their area of the barre for use as well. These measures are only in the event CDC is still observing these measures in August. We have also moved early bird pricing deadline to May 31 in observance of the pandemic’s delay in plans.

CLASS ATTIRE & DRESS CODE
There is no dress code at the intensive, but tight fitting dance attire is required. Any color or style. No loose fitting pants, shirts, or hanging warm up wear. Ballet flats are required for both men and women. Women on pointe are required to have nude (closest color to your skin) pointe shoes as well.

HOUSING RECOMMENDATIONS
Arch Ballet does not provide housing. See packet for housing recommendations.

PRIVATES & CHOREOGRAPHY FOR SHEENA ANNALISE
