An accessible performance for children, teens, adults, and their friends and family on the autism spectrum.
This performance will be 30 minutes, have a supportive environment for an audience of families and friends with children or adults who are diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder or other sensitivity issues. Adjustments to the production include reduction of obscure lighting, shorter running time, and reduction of any sudden sounds. Plus, there will be an autism specialist, for those who need to leave their seats during the performance.
‘Hues of Memory’ is an entrancing ballet with a theatre that has taken on a whimsical greenery maze, setting the backdrop for this romantic work. American Sign Language is seamlessly integrated into the ballerina’s movement, revealing the poetic debut of world renowned photographer, Luis Pons which is a beautiful and intriguing way to convey the story through movement and another language. Award winning composer Matthew AC Cohen sets the temperature of the work with a euphoric guitar and violin score played at a lower volume level for all to enjoy. Audience members get to meet the cast after the show!
